It's easy to get swept up in the beauty of other businesses and entrepreneur's imagery and branding. They seem to have it all together, and that's what YOU want. So you do the obvious and find a photographer.... But how do you convey what you are looking for when you aren't exactly sure what you are looking for? Great question!
3 Tips for Creating Your Perfect Branding Session
- DO YOU & Get Specific! Don't try and copy what someone else has done. Sure, you may like their photos, and they may seem perfect, and there is a good chance they are. But they are perfect for THEIR brand, THEIR voice, THEIR image.
If you are going to create an inspiration board, be specific about why you like each image. Is it the colors, the decor, the emotion...? Really pin-point why you choose to add that as inspiration and how it may correlate to your own brand.
- Know Your WHY. Know why you are getting these images. Are you looking for photos of YOU? Are you looking for custom stock imagery that fits your brand? Do you need images for specific blog posts or future posts that need to be cohesive to your overall image? Are you looking for a large collection to disperse over social media? Do you need to feature other brands or sponsors you are working with? Don't be shy and list it ALL out!
- Find the RIGHT Photographer. You are going to want to find a photographer who's style is one that you love, who can help you hone in on your vision and bring it to life, who is going to go through all the details of your brand. Your photographer should be someone you want to develop a relationship with, someone you can connect with, and someone who is equally as excited about watching your brand flourish. It should be a relationship you are equally as excited about and invested in.
