Meeting Flip, I mean, Luke. {Cleveland Newborn Photographer}

The only thing more precious than a newborn baby, is watching siblings meet that newborn baby for the very first time. Right after I found out that Hank and Jack were going to become big brothers, I asked them what they wanted to name the baby. They immediately responded in unison, "Super Robot Baby Flip."

For months, they stuck to that. Always the same - Super Robot Baby Flip. Then one day, it was shortened to just Flip. And they no longer referred to the baby, but rather to Flip. So when they were told that "the baby" was named Luke, Jack got a little teary and said, "But I thought we were naming him Flipapotomous."

It was agreed that Flip was still an excellent nickname. I'm anxious, come Tuesday, to see what the boys have settled on calling him:)

.....

As twins, Hank and Jack have never known a life of not having a brother. But having a brother who isn't the same age or have the same birthday was a whole new concept. I was so curious as to how they would react to actually seeing this baby they've been hearing and talking about for the better part of the past year. Did they fully understand what it all meant? How would they approach? Would they be more interested in the hospital room than their brother?

Watching them interact with Luke for the first time was priceless. Jack wanted to hold him, immediately, and Hank had to investigate. They looked at his tiny hands, they took off his socks and compared their own feet to his, they delicately touched his hair, and they stroked his soft cheeks with their own little fingers. They giggled at his noises and they showed him their favorite stuffed animals. I'm not sure exactly what I expected, but any expectations were far exceeded. It was such an honor documenting those first moments together.

Congratulations to my all time favorite family:) It looks I have another favorite boy!
